Chris and I ask you to join us as we again serve as Chairpersons for a special event designed to benefit jointly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and The University of Michigan Comprehensive Diabetes Center (UMCDC). On May 16, we will host the 2011 Swing to Cure Diabetes Golf Outing at the UM Golf Course.
Many of you know of our son Jeffrey’s battle against Type 1 diabetes. With your participation and support, UMCDC and JDRF will continue their efforts to treat this disease and fund important research that will lead to a cure. Through our first two golf outings we have raised over $110,000!.
This year’s event will take place at the UM Golf Course on Monday, May 16 with an 11:00 AM shotgun start. Activities for the day will include a silent and live auction, competitions, prizes, and more. A box lunch, beverages and a buffet style dinner also will be provided. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the 2011 Swing to Cure Diabetes Golf Outing on May 16th!
Warm regards, Chris & Rich Hewlett

| A Few Words From Jeffrey... |
| Ever since I was 4 years old, I have had diabetes. I don’t remember what life was like without diabetes. I wake up every day and the first thing I do is poke my finger. Then after that, I take a shot to cover everything I have eaten. This is the routine I do before every meal, everyday. Even during school, I leave class 5 minutes early to test and give myself a shot before lunch. Diabetes has never slowed me down.
I just want to let you know how much I appreciate your help. I enjoy playing golf and am very excited about the Swing to Cure Diabetes golf outing. I hope to see you there!
